Perry Local Schools is seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered K–6 Music Teacher to lead a comprehensive elementary music program. The ideal candidate will foster a love of music, build foundational skills, and create engaging experiences that support the whole child.
Key Responsibilities
•Plan and deliver standards-aligned music instruction for grades K–6
•Teach fundamental music concepts including rhythm, melody, harmony, and movement
•Lead vocal and performance-based experiences for students
•Organize and direct elementary music programs and performances
•Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
•Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
•Collaborate with staff to support school-wide initiatives
•Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
Qualifications
•Valid Ohio teaching license in Music (K–12 or appropriate grade band)
•Strong knowledge of elementary music pedagogy
•Ability to engage and inspire young learners
•Commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience directing elementary performances or programs
•Ability to integrate movement, instruments, and technology into instruction
•Willingness to contribute to extracurricular or arts-based opportunities
