position summary
Under minimum supervision the Shop Supervisor is responsible for operations, dispatch, employee retention and advancement, sales/marketing for the Branch or assigned territory. The Shop Supervisor’s overall accountability is to ensure customer responsiveness and customer satisfaction; achieved by providing high quality industrial cleaning service focused on safety and our customers’ satisfaction.
This is a high-ownership leadership role responsible for launching and building a new branch from the ground up. The Shop Supervisor will have full accountability for establishing operations, building and leading a team, driving revenue growth, and delivering overall performance. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct, measurable impact on the success of a new market and shape the long-term trajectory of the business.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Lead the safety program using the Loss Prevention System (LPS) to, lead by example, participate in health, safety and environment activities and arrange the correction of unsafe conditions and facilitate coaching/training of subordinates to change unsafe behaviors.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relations by responding to customer needs and coordinating the appropriate support to meet customer expectations.
- Lead, innovate, coach and mentor with overall responsibility for the profitability, growth, and management of branch location by analyzing key financial data, oversight of budgets, expenditure authorizations, and coordinating with other departments.
- Actively manages the branch equipment, assets, and vehicles to ensure compliance with company maintenance requirements, increased reliability, and utilization of equipment.
- Effectively and professionally communicate with customers to ensure job/tasks are performed in the desired manner.
- Train and mentor Field Service Team Members on the operation and maintenance of waterblasting and related equipment, including automated equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation; provide feedback regarding performance evaluations for individuals.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Set up work site/area (equipment, tools, and employees) to ensure all workers, company/customer equipment and facilities remain safe and do not incur personal injury or damages as a result of the work performed.
- Ensure employees are working in the safest and most cost-effective manner to complete the job/task in the best interest of safety and SES profitability.
- Conduct safety meetings as needed and ensure implementation and execution of the company’s Loss
- Prevention System (LPS) to ensure proper safety procedures are followed.
- Professionally complete or direct and review the completion of all on-site paperwork/job tickets for the company and customer to drive accurate billing and payroll functions and assure regulatory compliance; ensuring that all daily job tickets are accurately input into the mobile tablet system and all items used to perform the work are properly captured, including compliance with electronic Driver logs (ELD).
- Direct personnel at job-site and perform any necessary task to ensure the job is completed safely and meets customers’ expectations.
- Daily record and/or approve hours in time-keeping system for the purpose of accurately capturing hours worked for branch office staff.
Education and Experience
Required
- Minimum of 7 years in the Environmental and/or Industrial Services industry
- Minimum of 5 years managerial experience
- Minimum 5 years of safety and/or compliance
- Able to operate all SES Vacuum Trucks, Water Blasters, Steamer units, and associated equipment.
- Sales experience preferred

- Frequent walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting and moving of equipment up to 50 lbs (adjust as necessary).
- Ability to work in industrial environments, including exposure to loud noise, heavy machinery, and potential environmental hazards.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines, analyze operational challenges, and make high-stakes decisions.

- Travel required, including overnight stays as needed
