The
University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry (UIC COD) is seeking
full-time, Central Sterilization Supply Technicians (Dental Sterilization
Techs) to join a worldwide leader in oral health education, clinical care
and research that is patient-centered and evidence-based. 

The
College of Dentistry is the largest oral health college in the State of
Illinois, provides care for 35,000 patients a year, and has over 500 students
seeking dental degrees including DMD, PhD and Master’s programs and it is the
only research-oriented dental school in Illinois.

Dental
Sterilization Technicians perform all duties associated with the sterilization
process and dispensing of dental instruments, supplies and equipment used by
the dental students and staff at the College of Dentistry. 

Minimum Qualifications Required:

1. High school graduation or GED

2. One (1) year (12 months) of experience in a medical, health care, or laboratory setting or a closely related setting using sterile procedures OR Current certification as a Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).

The preferred candidate will have knowledge of dental instrumentation, procedures and dental materials, experience operating sterilizing machines and thermal disinfectors and knowledge of sterile techniques and infection control procedures.
