Job Description

Location Site: Salem Hospital, 890 Oak Street SE, Salem, Oregon 97301
Department: Emergency Department
Position Type: Full time, 36 hours/week, Non-Exempt
Schedule: Staggered shifts starting between 12:00 pm and 8:00 pm, three 12-hour shifts/week, variable call coverage

This is more than a technical role; it’s a chance to make a real impact in the lives of patients and families during critical moments. You’ll keep a constant watch over patient cardiac rhythms with precision and vigilance, acting quickly when changes occur to ensure timely interventions. Your ability to recognize and interpret rhythms will make you a trusted teammate, working side by side with nurses, physicians, and other professionals to deliver seamless care. Accuracy in documentation is essential, as your records support safe, informed decisions for patients in need. And beyond the technical expertise, you’ll bring energy and compassion to the team, contributing to a culture where excellence and empathy go hand in hand.

What you'll do

  • Provide continuous cardiac monitoring by keeping a vigilant eye on patient rhythms, ensuring every heartbeat is tracked with accuracy.

  • Recognize and interpret cardiac changes by identifying arrhythmias or abnormalities quickly and escalate concerns to the appropriate clinical staff.

  • Respond with urgency as you act promptly when changes occur, supporting timely interventions that can make all the difference in patient outcomes.

  • Collaborate with the care team while working closely with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver seamless, coordinated care.

  • Document with precision as you maintain thorough and accurate records of patient status, rhythm changes, and interventions to support safe decision-making.

  • Support a culture of compassion and excellence as you bring energy, empathy, and professionalism to every interaction, contributing to a team environment where patients feel cared for and staff feel supported.

  • Stay sharp in a dynamic setting by adapting to the fast-moving pace of the Emergency Department while maintaining focus and composure under pressure.

Additional information

  • Recent experience in acute care setting preferred.
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring preferred.  
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology preferred.
