Job Description

Position Summary

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for managing the social media component of RHF’s Communications Plan, including content creation, post scheduling, and oversight of Meta campaigns. This role also supports marketing and communication efforts for RHF’s affordable housing communities by designing, updating, and distributing brochures, flyers, and advertisements, as well as producing RHF’s quarterly newsletter. In addition, the Communications Coordinator assists with planning and executing national and community events, supports advocacy initiatives in collaboration with partner organizations, and contributes to special projects as needed.

Please note this position is temporary and will remain in effect until the needs of the manager no longer require it. The duration of the role may be extended or ended based on those requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

Communication Materials Creation & Management

  • Create communication materials, including newsletters, project announcements, and the annual report, using Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, and Canva.
  • Manage and oversee the marketing efforts of RHF’s affordable communities, including designing and updating brochures, flyers, and advertisements.

Social Media Management and Communications

  • Manage Meta (Facebook, Instagram and Threads) and LinkedIn accounts.
  • Create, curate, and schedule content on all social channels.
  • Create and manage Meta campaigns.

Event Planning & Communications

  • Assist in coordinating special events at national and community levels.
  • Support RHF’s advocacy efforts with nonprofit organizations and state affiliates dedicated to serving older adults.
  • Manage external inquiries sent to RHF’s general email inbox.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a relevant field.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while demonstrating initiative.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new skills and responsibilities.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Canva.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Work Environment

Position Type/Expected Hours:

This is a full-time, temporary position. Regular work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM-5:30 PM. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required based on job duties.

Compensation:

Actual base salary considers several factors including but not limited to geography, job-related knowledge, experience, and budget. The start of the salary range is typically associated with the minimum experience required.

The role is considered Full-Time non-exempt may be eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal and state law. The anticipated base pay range for the position is $32.00 - $34.00 per hour.
