Key Responsibilities

Payroll Support

  • Assist with reviewing employee timecards and identifying missing punches, missed entries, or timekeeping discrepancies.
  • Help prepare timekeeping reports for review and approval by management.
  • Support payroll documentation, filing, and recordkeeping.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate employee payroll-related information.
  • Learn basic payroll processes, deadlines, and compliance requirements.

Human Resources Support

  • Assist with employee onboarding, including collecting required documents and ensuring forms are completed.
  • Help maintain employee personnel files and confidential HR records.
  • Assist with employee data entry and updates in HR/payroll systems.
  • Support HR with employee communications, forms, and general administrative tasks.
  • Assist with benefits, policy acknowledgments, and other HR documentation as needed.

Recruiting & Onboarding Support

  • Help post job openings and review applicant information.
  • Assist with scheduling interviews and communicating with candidates.
  • Support pre-employment processes, including background check forms, drug testing instructions, and onboarding follow-up.
  • Help ensure new hire paperwork is complete before the employee’s start date.

Administrative Support

  • Scan, file, organize, and maintain HR and payroll documents.
  • Assist with creating spreadsheets, reports, and tracking logs.
  • Provide support with special HR, payroll, or compliance projects as assigned.
  • Maintain professionalism when communicating with employees, applicants, vendors, and managers.

Qualifications

  • Current student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Payroll, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and ask questions when clarification is needed.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Primarily office-based position.
  • May occasionally interact with field employees, managers, or applicants.
  • Must be able to sit, use a computer, scan documents, and perform general office duties.
