Manufacturing Engineer Intern


Location: Fresno, CA
FLSA Status: Hourly (Internship)


Compensation Range: $25.00
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday (Day Shift)

Position Summary


The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will support the Manufacturing Engineering team in day-to-day operations while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes, equipment, and work practices. This role provides hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment and offers the opportunity to develop technical and problem-solving skills while supporting production efficiency, quality, and safety.




Key Responsibilities


Including, but not limited to:



  • Support production teams in the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes

  • Assist in developing processes that are safe, efficient, and repeatable

  • Participate in maintenance and repair activities for machines and equipment as needed

  • Assist in training team members on manufacturing processes and equipment

  • Complete and maintain manufacturing routings accurately and in a timely manner

  • Provide prompt support to production when issues arise

  • Verify adherence to quality standards and ensure parts meet specifications

  • Utilize metrics and visual management tools to monitor and improve performance

  • Update and create work instructions and process documentation

  • Support implementation and sustainability of standardized work and best practices

  • Observe and comply with all safety requirements and ISO 9001/14001 standards

  • Adhere to company policies, including code of conduct and attendance

  • Perform other duties as assigned




Qualifications



  • Currently enrolled in or working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, methods, and technologies



  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and engineering tools

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies preferred

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings strongly preferred

  • Ability to understand Bills of Materials (BOMs) preferred
