A Forklift Operator, or Material Handler, is a certified warehouse or manufacturing associate responsible for safely and efficiently handling materials using heavy machinery such as forklifts. They are responsible for moving materials around a work site, preparing merchandise for transport, securing goods to prevent damage, and using radio communications to coordinate priorities.

In addition to operating forklifts, Forklift Operators are also responsible for checking for damaged goods, staying aware of potential hazards in the work environment, performing regular maintenance on forklifts and other equipment, and recording data about the products they are moving. They must have a high school diploma, OSHA Forklift Certification, a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Forklift Operator, and the ability to operate powered industrial machinery.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Forklift Operators must also be over the age of 18 to operate heavy machinery safely.
