Job Description

Position Summary 

Performs Echocardiograms, TEE, Stress Echo’s, Arterial, Carotid Dopplers, and other diagnostic exams using specialized ultrasound equipment. Assumes responsibility and accountability for patients in the department and provides care to these patients through assessment, observation, and documentation. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described within. Work is primarily independent. 

 

Qualifications/Experience  

Education:   

High School diploma or GED equivalent required.  

Graduation from an approved program of Echocardiography with certification (ARDMS or CCI)  

 

Experience:   

Prior experience performing Echocardiogram testing is preferred.  

  

Certifications: 

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Maintains established hospital and department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control practices.  

Assist in case and maintenance of facility, equipment, and supplies necessary for diagnostic procedures.  

Maintains inventory control of supplies and reorders as necessary 

Attend all departmental in-services, meetings, education, and training.  

Maintains compliance with all department competency requirements.  

Remain current with all Echocardiography and Ultrasound practice updates.  

Participation in Regulatory surveys and quality improvement activities.  

Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
