Your Role on the Team

We are seeking a motivated Aerospace Engineer Intern to join our team for an exciting 8-10 week summer internship program. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on advanced aerostructural design and manufacturing challenges by using and developing with our software. You are/have:

  • Strong background in aerospace engineering with focus on design and analysis
  • Proficiency in Python programming
  • Experience with computational fluid dynamics, structural finite element analysis, and coupled analysis problems
  • Passion for tackling challenging computational design problems in aerospace applications

Responsibilities

  • Design manufacturable aerospace components
  • Develop and execute coupled aerodynamics-structural analysis workflows
  • Use and test our toolpathing software on challenging geometries
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to validate manufacturing feasibility of designs
  • Contribute to advancement of our computational design tools and methodologies
  • Document your work and present project outcomes to the team

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an MS or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (exceptional Bachelor's students with relevant research experience will also be considered)
  • Knowledge of structural mechanics, aerodynamics, and multiphysics analysis
  • Proficiency in Python programming for complex engineering applications
  • Experience with CAD software and advanced simulation tools (FEA, CFD)
  • Understanding of composite materials and manufacturing processes
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently on projects
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, research-oriented environment

Desired Experience:

  • CFD experience with tools like ANSYS, SU2 or similar
  • FEA experience with tools like Abaqus, Altair or similar
  • C++ programming experience
  • Familiarity with additive manufacturing processes and design for manufacturing
  • Understanding of aircraft structures and aerospace design requirements
  • Coursework or projects in composite materials and structures

Internship Details:

  • Duration: 8-10 weeks (flexible start date in summer 2026)
  • Location: Remote, Contiguous US Time Zone
  • Compensation: Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience
