Position Summary


The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for providing direct resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. The CNA supports residents with daily living activities, promotes resident comfort and dignity, and helps maintain a safe and clean care environment.


CNA Job Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and mobility

Provide quality nursing assistant care in accordance with resident care plans and facility policies

Take and record vital signs, weights, intake and output, and other assigned observations

Answer call lights and respond promptly to resident needs

Assist residents with transfers, repositioning, and ambulation while using proper safety techniques

Observe and report changes in residents’ physical, emotional, or mental condition to the nurse

Maintain accurate documentation of care provided

Help promote a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents

Support residents with dignity, respect, and compassion at all times

Work cooperatively with nurses, therapy, dietary, housekeeping, and other departments

Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies and procedures

Attend required in-services, trainings, and staff meetings


Requirements


Requirements

Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the State of [Insert State]

Current CPR certification preferred

Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred, but not required

Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members

Strong teamwork, dependability, and attendance

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and professional attitude

Must be able to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions

Must be capable of performing the physical demands of the position, including lifting, bending, standing, walking, and assisting with resident transfers

Must pass required background screening and any other pre-employment requirements in accordance with facility policy and state regulations
