Primary Purpose:

 

• Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher.
• Assist in preparing, conducting, and managing student intervention groups.

Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree and/or teacher certification

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Reviewing classroom topics and assignments
• Working with students to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom
• Teaching skills to improve academic performance, including strategies, note-taking skills, and approaches to answering test questions
• Demonstrating academic best practices for specific subjects and assignments
• Conducting practice tests to track progress, identify areas of improvement and help set goals
• Providing students positive and constructive feedback
• Offering feedback to students' teachers
• Building meaningful connections with students
• Recognizing different learning styles and student preferences
• Designing differentiated learning goals

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Ability to assist in instructing reading and mathematics
• Ability to work well with children
• Ability to communicate effectively

Educational Requirements

• Bachelors Degree
• Texas Teacher Certification
