Normal Working Hours: 2nd Shift (3:00pm - 11:00pm) / Monday – Friday / As Needed
Immediate Coach: General Manager
Position Summary
This position is responsible for assisting the General Manager by coaching associates in order to ensure their competency, continually improving their knowledge, skills and abilities, establishing and maintaining an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork in supporting AIM objectives. Associate is responsible for taking the actions necessary to ensure that human asset and equipment are utilized correctly and efficiently and are readily available to meet departmental objectives. This position supports a lean and safe working environment while focusing on continuous improvement, quality, and support of teamwork throughout the Company.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain time and attendance records for associates.
- Efficiently plan and schedule incoming product.
- Coordinate information between shifts using various media (e-mail, voicemail, etc.)
- Must be aware of and comply with KHTL QMS documentation and procedures, and capable of conveying this awareness to associates under their direction.
- Identify training needs and evaluate performance for the associates under his/her direction and make appropriate referrals.
- Initiate or facilitate associate teams using appropriate procedures, charter, and/or documentation.
- Direct workflow through manufacturing and maximizing associate and equipment resources.
- Assist with equipment maintenance as needed.
- Maintain product quality within goals and objectives for scrap.
- Promote associate safety, train associates on location’s safety procedures and equipment, and enforce company safety guidelines.
- Administer company policies and procedures fairly, complete required paperwork in a timely manner, and utilize available resources to interpret current operational guidelines.
- Support location’s goals and objectives by defining and maintaining Target Actions.
- Create an environment that encourages associate participation.
Marginal / Less Essential Job Functions

- Assist other departments for continuous improvement.
- May travel to manufacturer for training on new equipment.
- Demonstrate the ability to organize, train, direct, and motivate associates.

Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in a technical discipline is preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Other Qualifications Desired
Training & Experience
- Experience in PVD Coating or vacuum technology is preferred.
- Four to six years of supervision/management experience is preferred.
- Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
License Required
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet requirements set by KSPT-G insurance carrier.
Visual Acuity
- Ability to read computer screens, other reading materials, and view in microscopes with or without accommodation.
Hearing Ability
- Ability to meet the minimum essential job functions with or without accommodation.
Working Conditions
- Well lit, climate-controlled manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels. Position subject to occasional light to medium lifting (up to 50lbs), carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, and bending. This position requires ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl to access various machine areas. Constant use of upper extremities with frequent gripping motions and wrist deviations. Exposure to hazards of moving equipment and automated machinery. Position frequently handles sharp cutting tools. Position requires continuous standing, and walking. Minimal skin exposure to detergents, oils and cutting/grinding fluids and minimal exposure to fumes, dusts, mists.

- Associate is required to follow other job-related duties, subject to all local, state, and federal laws and applicable regulations.
- The incumbent must successfully perform all requirements of the position training plan.
When overtime is scheduled, it is mandatory.
