Job Description

Child Welfare Assistant 

This position is located in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

Travel: Extensive - Must possess a valid driver's license and must maintain required car insurance.

Annual Salary:

  • Level I    H16A - $29,600.55 + Full State Benefits
  • Level II   H16B - $31,819.20 + Full State Benefits
  • Level III  H16C - $34,999.65 + Full State Benefits

 

Minimum Qualifications

Child Welfare Assistant I

  • Six months of experience with general office clerical work;
  • Or, six months of providing care for children in a licensed daycare facility;
  • Or, six months of vocational training coursework;
  • Or, the completion of 15 semester hours from a college or university. 

Child Welfare Assistant II

  • One year of clerical office experience in a governmental or non-profit environment;
  • Or a combination of education and experience. 

Child Welfare Assistant III

  • One year of clerical office experience/combination of education and experience, PLUS two years of clerical experience in the Child Welfare field. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides lower-level case-management assistance and support to Child Welfare Specialists (CWS), clients, client families, and other interested parties.

  • Performs administrative support tasks and other related duties to include general office duties, inputting case documentation, compiling social and economic data, scheduling, and assisting in meetings with clients, parents, and other interested parties.

  • Schedules required appointments for doctor visits, family visitations, court appearances, and others; arranges or provides transportation for children and clients.

  • Interviews clients and their families and reports findings to the assigned CWS.

  • Advises clients of available child welfare services and resources; provides specific program information to clients and may refer to community resources for assistance.
