Job Description

 

BNP Associates is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our growing global operations. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance across multiple domestic and international entities, with a focus on both U.S. GAAP and IFRS standards. The ideal candidate brings experience in multi-entity accounting, international compliance, and thrives in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.


Key Responsibilities

As a Staff Accountant, you will play a critical role on the Finance Team. The position’s key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS 
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities 
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and general ledger reconciliations 
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements and international financial reporting standards (IFRS) 
  • Manage withholding tax requirements across global jurisdictions 
  • Oversee and support VAT/GST reporting and filings (UK, UAE, Singapore, and other regions as applicable) 
  • Assist with international licensing, registrations, and regulatory compliance
  • Perform international account reconciliations, including multi-currency accounts 
  • Track and reconcile retainage balances related to project-based work 
  • Conduct internal account audits to ensure accuracy and policy adherence 
  • Establish and maintain internal controls and regular GAAP/IFRS compliance checks
  • Support the standardization of accounting policies across global entities 
  • Assist with aligning GAAP and IFRS reporting differences where applicable 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency 
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data across projects and regions
  • Assist with external audits and coordination with auditors across jurisdictions 
  • Support multi-currency accounting and foreign exchange adjustments 
  • Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions 
  • Assist with consolidated financial reporting across entities 
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes 
  • Contribute to Deltek our ERP/system improvements and reporting capabilities

Qualifications

Below is an outline of the minimum qualifications for this position.

  • 2–5+ years of accounting experience (multi-entity or global experience preferred) 
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS (experience with both strongly preferred) 
  • Experience with international tax concepts (VAT/GST, withholding taxes) preferred 
  • Experience with multi-currency accounting environments
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems required; experience with Deltek preferred
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Exceptional multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Data acquisition and compilation skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar experience

Working Conditions

  • This full-time position is based in our Bangalore, IND office.
  • Standard 40-hour work week with occasional additional time required to meet deadlines
  • This position is fully in office as the finance team works collaboratively in the office daily.
