The Portland Regency Hotel & Spa, a beautiful Historic Hotels of America property located in the heart of Portland’s Old Port District, is seeking a licensed Massage Therapist to join our award-winning spa team.
Schedule:
- Saturday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Sunday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
(Part-time, weekend availability required)
Compensation:
Commission-based, paid as a percentage of the service price (may vary from menu pricing):
- Massage: 40%
- HydraFacial: 25%
- Facials: 40%
- Body Treatments: 40%
- Product Sales: 10%
About the Role
As a Massage Therapist at The Spa at Portland Regency, you’ll provide exceptional treatments and personalized care to guests in a relaxing, professional environment. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, team-oriented, and passionate about delivering high-quality body and skincare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a full range of treatments, including:
- Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, Pregnancy, Aroma, Foot, and Chair Massage
- Body Wraps and Exfoliations (dry and Vichy table)
- Facials, Hand/Foot, Hair, and Scalp Treatments
- Maintain professionalism and guest confidentiality at all times.
- Follow established spa protocols, including proper draping and treatment choreography.
- Review intake forms, identify contraindications, and adjust services as needed.
- Maintain treatment rooms and equipment in a clean, sanitary, and organized manner.
- Recommend additional treatments and retail products to enhance the guest experience.
- Support spa operations by restocking, cleaning, and assisting with special events or promotions.
- Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and periodic spa promotions.
Qualifications
- Valid Maine Massage Therapy License required.
- 1+ year of professional spa or clinical experience preferred.
- Knowledge of a wide range of massage and body techniques.
- Strong communication and client service skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal protocols accurately.
- Must be reliable, professional, and maintain appropriate personal presentation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform 6–8 hours of treatment per day with short breaks between sessions.
- Must be able to stand, reach, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs (occasionally 50 lbs).
- Strong understanding of proper body mechanics and endurance for deep-tissue work.
