What You’ll Do
Safety Leadership & Culture

- Maintain a visible, on-the-floor presence engaging directly with shop teams
- Lead behavior-based safety initiatives that drive accountability at all levels
Compliance & Risk Management
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety programs including:
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Confined Space
- Fall Protection
- PPE compliance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and local safety regulations
Training & Workforce Development
- Partner with Operations and the Training Specialist to integrate safety into daily workflows
- Deliver hands-on training for fabrication teams
- Support onboarding and ongoing safety education initiatives
Incident Prevention & Investigation
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Track and report key safety metrics (TRIR, near misses, leading indicators)
- Identify trends and implement corrective actions
Continuous Improvement
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections
- Improve processes related to:
- Rigging and crane operations
- Welding and fabrication safety
- Material handling and heavy equipment use
What You Bring
Experience
- 5+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing, heavy industry or industrial construction environment required: Structural steel fabrication highly preferred
- Proven ability to work hands-on in a shop environment
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of:
- Welding processes (FCAW, GMAW, SMAW preferred)
- Overhead cranes, rigging, and material handling
- Heavy plate fabrication and industrial equipment
Certifications
Required:
- OSHA 30 (General Industry or Construction)
Preferred:
- CHST or ASP
- First Aid / CPR / AED
- Fall Protection Competent Person
- Confined Space Training
- LOTO Certification
