Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Opto-Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our team. This role involves working in an ISO 6 cleanroom environment, fully suited, assembling precision opto-mechanical and electro-optical products. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, problem-solving ability, and flexibility to support multiple assembly departments as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble opto-mechanical and electro-optical components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Accurately read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues, including mechanical misalignments and fitting problems.
- Repair mechanical defects such as broken screws, misfitting parts, and similar issues.
- Operate and maintain optical and measurement equipment for alignment and verification.
- Collaborate effectively within a team of 6 members to meet production goals.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 6 cleanroom protocols and maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
- Demonstrate flexibility by supporting other assembly departments when required.
- Adapt to changing priorities and maintain a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Qualifications:
- Experience in opto-mechanical or electro-optical assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Familiarity with optical systems and precision measurement tools.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment (ISO 6) with full gowning requirements.
- Willingness to cross-train and assist in other assembly areas as needed.
- Ability to safely handle and lift products up to 32 lbs.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in optics, mechanics, or electronics is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in precision assembly or related field.
