Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE:

We’re looking for a Set Stylist who brings a refined eye, strong production instincts, and a highly collaborative approach to execution. This role is responsible for translating the creative vision, established in partnership with the Art Director, into thoughtfully styled, camera-ready environments.

 

This person is a senior hands-on stylist who thrives in execution, developing styling directions, managing details, and elevating the final look while ensuring alignment with the broader creative approach. They are also a key contributor to the client experience, delivering a polished, white-glove presence from prep through production.

 

JOB LOCATION AND HOURS:

The location of this position is expected to be completed in the studio for company and client needs. The normal working hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm with a one-hour lunch. Additional hours and days may be required on an occasional basis pending workload and client needs and expectations.

 

FLSA CLASSIFICATION:

This is an exempt position and not eligible for overtime under the FLSA guidelines.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:



  • Interpret and execute the creative vision set by, or in partnership with, the Art Director, translating it into detailed styling approaches and environments
  • Develop styling boards, prop direction, and visual references that support and enhance the overall creative direction
  • Collaborate closely with the Art Director and Design team to ensure styling aligns with set design, brand tone, and campaign goals
  • Bring thoughtful ideas to the table while maintaining alignment with the established creative direction
  • Support client-facing creative conversations, helping present styling direction and guide decisions within the approved vision
  • Deliver a high-touch, white-glove experience, professional, proactive, and solutions-oriented
  • Respond to feedback with agility, offering styling adjustments that maintain creative consistency
  • Lead on-set styling execution, ensuring the creative vision is realized with precision and consistency
  • Act as the go-to for real-time styling decisions, adjustments, and refinements during production
  • Maintain continuity across shots, setups, and production days
  • Work seamlessly with the Art Director, Photographer/Director, and Production team to keep the day moving efficiently
  • Successfully manage various ongoing productions in close sequence
  • Own the sourcing, organization, and management of props and styling assets
  • Oversee prep, install, and strike of all styling elements with a high level of organization and attention to detail
  • Manage styling-related budgets in partnership with Production
  • Approach all work with a strong understanding of production timelines, constraints, and efficiencies
  • Maintain awareness of current style trends in interior and exterior design techniques as well as fashion design trends.
  • Understand and demonstrate the major design principles to interior design. This includes scale, proportion, harmony, color, contrast, details, balance, emphasis, and rhythm

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

COMPETENCIES

  • Experience working within a creative hierarchy, collaborating closely with Art Directors, Design Executives, and Creative Directors
  • Deep understanding of on-set workflows and production dynamics
  • Exceptional eye for detail, composition, color, and texture
  • Ability to stay calm, adaptable, and solutions-oriented in fast-paced environments
  • Highly organized with strong ownership over details and execution
  • Confident, professional presence with experience supporting client interactions


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in set styling, prop styling, or environmental styling within a production or creative studio environment
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating elevated styling across product, lifestyle, and/or branded content
  • Demonstrated expertise in a professional studio, production, or creative services environment, with a strong understanding of how studio capabilities translate into client value and revenue opportunities.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present clearly, influence decision-makers, and convey complex information with clarity and confidence.
  • Proven ability to build rapport, develop trust, and cultivate long-term client relationships across multiple levels of an organization.
  • Conscientious work habits, high accuracy, and consistent attention to detail in all client-facing and internal deliverables.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain documentation, and support seamless client experiences.
  • Demonstrated proficiency managing timelines, coordinating cross-functional efforts, and delivering work efficiently in fast-paced environments.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described below must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

  • Dexterity is mandatory as this job requires frequent use of hands and fingers.
  • Will be required to walk, reach with hands and arms, push items overhead, occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Will be required to talk, hear, and see
  • Ability to lift and move up to 15lbs
  • Ability to climb stairs/ladders
  • Ability to lift items weighing approximately 50lbs independently or with assistance
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines

  • Ability to operate general office equipment (fax machine, photocopier, computer printer) stationed between 3 & 4 feet high
