Description

Second Shift Welder Fabricator performs all elements of steel fabrication.  Duties involve fabrication processes but also component assembly, operating hand tools, and metal fabrication equipment including saws, drills, brakes, and grinders.

Responsibilities:
 Second Shift Welder Fabricator has the following responsibilities and duties:

• Perform welding operations adhering to the following welding standards; FCAW and GMAW. GTAW and SAW are optional but not required.
•        Operate equipment as described in company procedures, i.e., metal cutting saws, cutting with torches and plasmas, drills, weld gauges, material handling equipment, and grinders.
•        Understand the function of welding machines and can set up a machine for various job requirements.
•        Read and understand welding symbols on plans and drawings.
•        Grind and perform various joint preparations.
•        Sequence welds to prevent distortion of material.

Requirements

Requirements:
Second Shift Welder Fabricator should have the following skills, education, and experience:

•         3 to 5 years minimum experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency with fit up & fabrication
• Technical skills in the welding trade
• Basic reading and writing skills; tape measure reading
• Basic knowledge of structural steel shapes, sizes, and grades
• Ability to interpret shop drawings and understand weld symbols
• Must be able to speak & understand detailed information through oral communication and be able to see clearly and recognize small details.
• Hand tools required; power tools provided.
• Certification in several welding processes including FCAW and GMAW preferred
