    Director of Federal Programs and Grants Development

    JOB GOAL:     

    The Director of Federal Programs & Grants Development is responsible for overseeing and managing all District Federal and State grants and programs, along with funding sources provided from foundations, agencies, donations and corporations.  This individual will also write grants and assist school sites with writing and pursuing grants.

     

     QUALIFICATIONS

    • A minimum of  three  (3) years teaching and building level administrative experience preferred.
    • Current Arizona Administrative certification preferred/ similar job experience is acceptable 
    • Knowledge of school  improvement
    • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, policies and procedures
    • Knowledge and experience with grant applications and reporting procedures
    • Knowledge of ESSA and ESSER legislation
    • Evidence of leadership experience and delivery of professional development desirable 
    • Skill in developing and monitoring grant budgets of various sizes
    • Skill in developing effective data collection procedures
    • Evidence of organizational skills and problem solving
    • evidence of collaborative skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to manage paperwork demands and communication with people 
    • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers, vendors, students, parents, the general public and other stakeholders of  the school district.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skill in collaborating with district office personnel, team members, colleagues, and principals by demonstrating positive, supportive relationships in the work environment

     

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

    • Assumes responsibility for compliance with designated Title programs under ESSA
    • Provides support for district and school personnel in direct relation with federal grants.
    • Serves as the ESSA contact person/liaison with the Arizona Department of Education
    • Assumes responsibility for all applicable state and federal reporting, including the maintenance of district policies and procedures.
    • Oversees the planning, implementation, evaluation, and on-going monitoring of Title I, II, IV, ARP I &  II, TSI, CSI, Sustainability, SLD,21st Century, School Safety, Neglected and Delinquent and Homeless Education programs, and State Tutoring Grants.
    • Works closely with building administrators to develop and implement an effective Title I Integrated Action Plan, amend budgets, and facilitate meetings as needed.
    • Develops and maintains budgets for the various grants and district programs.
    • Oversees Title I services to eligible private school children, parent involvement, and compliance.
    • Provides training related to federal grants and budget development.
    • Supports schools in the school improvement process.
    • Aligns site plans to the district's Integrated Action Plan and prepares necessary school improvement documents for District Team consideration and/or approval
    • Works collaboratively with department directors, coordinators, and district personnel to provide support, which may include the facilitation of  professional development.
    • Provides reports to the district leadership if necessary 
    • Assumes final responsibility of all grants
    • Involves parents in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Title I program services.
    • Performs other duties as assigned or required by the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

    • Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
    • Knowledge of applicable Cartwright School District and departmental policies and procedures.
