Financial  and Valuation Advisory (FVA)

Scope

Financial Analyst positions are available in the Financial and Valuation Advisory (FVA) business’ Dispute Resolution and Financial Expert Opinions practice. You will play a key role on our engagement teams, which typically range in size from two to five professionals (e.g., a blend of Managing Director/Director, Senior Vice President/Vice President plus Associates and/or Financial Analysts). As a Financial Analyst, your role will include data and document analysis, using knowledge gained from document production and case analysis to construct valuation, lost profits/business damages, and other valuation models; critiquing opposing parties’ valuation models; performing financial statement analysis; performing economic, industry, and other types of research; participation in client and team meetings; designing and drafting deliverables and work product; as well as presenting analyses and conclusions internally to review committees.

Qualified candidates will earn additional responsibility for development of project approach, oversight, methodologies, and analytical frameworks, and have incremental client visibility and responsibilities, including marketing initiatives and business development.

  • B.A./B.S./B.B.A./Masters in accounting or B.A./B.S./B.B.A./Masters in finance or business with significant accounting coursework

  • 2-4 years public accounting, forensic accounting, litigation support or other relevant work experience

  • Strong qualitative and quantitative research, data analytics and statistical abilities

  • A fundamental understanding of accounting systems, financial statements, licensing agreements, partnership agreements as well as valuation and damages theories, methodologies, and applications

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

  • Superior organizational skills

  • Strong work ethic

  • Willingness and ability to accept feedback

  • Flexibility to travel

  • CPA, CFE, CFA a plus

  • Tableau experience a plus

  • Language skills a plus

  • Familiarity with document review platforms (e.g., Relativity) a plus

 

Candidates who have worked in a valuation/dispute practice within a Big Four environment or a national litigation / consulting firm are preferred; additionally, the position requires having had some professional and relevant work experience.  Advancement towards an industry recognized valuation designation is a plus.
