About the Role
The Senior System Administrator will support the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. This role is responsible for managing system infrastructure and ensuring reliable day-to-day operations across client, server, storage, and network environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support, including problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution
- Support escalation processes and communicate status updates to agency management and internal stakeholders
- Maintain involvement in dispatch system and hardware issue resolution
- Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain operating system software and network components
- Implement system enhancements to improve performance and reliability
- Monitor daily IT system operations, including servers, storage, networks, and mobile devices
- Perform system capacity planning and resource optimization
- Develop system engineering management and integration/test plans
- Provide detailed analysis and feedback for escalated issues
- Collaborate with government personnel, program staff, and senior leadership
- Ensure technical integrity of systems engineering deliverables
Requirements
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph (required)
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a System Administrator in programs of similar scope and complexity
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university
- Substitutions:
- 5 additional years of SA experience may substitute for a degree
- 5 additional years of Systems Engineering experience may also substitute
- Strong experience troubleshooting complex IT systems
- Experience with UNIX and Windows system administration
- Ability to manage daily IT operations and provide user support
Salary Range 170-175,000
The salary range provided is a general guideline. ISSI considers several factors when determining compensation, including the role’s responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
