Job Description

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer will assess manufacturing processes and be responsible for providing manufacturing engineering support for semi-truck stainless steel sheet metal accessories and related components.  This position requires knowledge and experience in sheet metal manufacturing.

This role will be responsible for the implementation of new products into the manufacturing environment, applying lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and design and process improvements.

 Core Functions

  • Identify, analyze, and implement continuous improvement in design and manufacturing process efficiency, safety, quality, and cost.
  • Support the determination of the root cause of non-conformances, implement corrective actions, and maintain and audit current production SOPs.
  • Leads teams in Kaizen events. 
  • Development of work processes to ensure that products are assembled properly and meet quality objectives through work instructions and training.
  • Perform capacity analysis and manufacturing process design for existing and new manufacturing processes and machine needs and develop better tools or systems.
  • Participate in procurement, installation, and run-off of new equipment processes.
  • Coordinate, provide input, and participate in the specification, design, development, and launch of new products.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering / industrial engineering or related field required.
  • Proficient in using CAD tools such as, AutoCAD / Inventor / SolidWorks.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles and Techniques.

Travel

  • Minimal travel may be required for team meetings throughout the year.
