Hourly Rate: $18.00/Hour

ABC Supply seeks a resourceful and curious intern to work in our IT Quality Assurance Department.
 

Interns in this department have the opportunity to engage with many aspects of the entire IT organization, getting a unique perspective on how different applications work and how they integrate to provide an enterprise solution that allows the company to grow and prosper.


Duties and responsibilities of the IT QA Tester position include:

  • Execution and documentation of testing for IT projects impacting one or multiple applications/systems critical to business operation.
  • Close interaction with business customers and technical peers during the project life cycle.
  • Creation and input of test data, either manually or by using tools, programs or extracted production data to execute test cases.
  • Definition and documentation of test plans, test cases and test scripts for IT software projects that vary from small to large in timeframe, scope, and complexity.  
  • Creation and maintenance of automated testing scripts.
  • Transition automated testing scripts from one coding language to another.
  • Ensuring traceability through given business requirements, creation of test cases, test executions, and possible issues/defects that arise.

Qualifications:

  • Majoring in MIS, Computer Science or a related degree program
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office desired
  • SQL Server experience desired
  • Java experience desired
  • Ability to learn, understand and apply new technologies
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively work independently and across teams, functions and departments
  • Clear communicator (written and verbal
  • Creative solving of technical problems 
  • Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables
