Job Description

Position Summary:

The RN, Pediatrics provides compassionate, developmentally appropriate nursing care to infants, children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of medical and surgical needs. This role conducts thorough assessments, monitors changes in clinical status, and delivers evidence-based nursing interventions to support stabilization, recovery, and family-centered care. Working collaboratively with pediatricians, specialists, therapists, and ancillary team members, the RN helps coordinate individualized care plans and promote continuity across the care experience. As part of a supportive, team-oriented pediatric environment, this position promotes safety, comfort, and positive health outcomes through clear communication, patient and family education, and attentive clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct age-appropriate assessments, monitor patient conditions, and evaluate responses to treatments and therapies.

Administer medications, perform procedures, manage IV access, and carry out physician-ordered interventions safely and accurately.

Provide education and emotional support to patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, care plans, and discharge instructions.

Document assessments, interventions, and communication in the electronic health record according to regulatory and organizational standards.

Collaborate with providers and care team members to coordinate care, participate in interdisciplinary rounds, and communicate patient needs.

Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and respond promptly to changes in pediatric patient status or emergent conditions.
