Description

Position Summary

The dual role of Maintenance Technician / Inspector supports the overall quality, functionality, and presentation of vacation rental properties in accordance with company standards. This role is responsible for conducting inspections, performing maintenance, and ensuring properties are guest-ready at all times.

The Employee works closely with Property Managers, Inspectors, and cleaning teams to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and property performance.


Areas of Responsibility and Duties

  • Travel efficiently between properties within an assigned territory to conduct inspections and respond to issues
  • Perform detailed inspections to ensure cleanliness, proper staging, inventory levels, and full functionality of appliances and systems prior to guest arrivals
  • Oversee the condition and readiness of residential rental properties, ensuring company standards are consistently met
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., changing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, basic troubleshooting)
  • Identify, document, and communicate major maintenance issues requiring vendor or contractor support
  • Prepare properties for guest and owner arrivals by coordinating cleaning, restocking supplies, and conducting final walkthroughs
  • Manage and track inventory including linens, toiletries, and property essentials
  • Deliver requested items to guests during their stay, ensuring a high level of customer service
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of inspections, maintenance requests, and inventory
  • Collaborate with Property Managers, Inspectors, and cleaning teams to ensure seamless property turnover and operations
  • Assist in training Inspectors and Cleaners on job responsibilities, quality standards, and expectations
  • Support scheduling of inspections, maintenance activities, and cleaning staff as needed
  • Provide clear and detailed communication and documentation of property issues to the Operations Manager
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in property management, maintenance, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Reliable transportation
  • Working knowledge of basic maintenance and repair tasks
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment

Typical Work Hours

  • 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM 
  • 5-day work week (unless otherwise specified in offer letter)
  • Weekend availability required
  • Flexibility to adapt to business needs, including occasional on-call responsibilities

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to frequently bend, kneel, and squat while inspecting properties and performing repairs
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Manual dexterity to safely use tools and equipment
  • Ability to navigate stairs, uneven terrain, and varied property layouts
  • Ability to climb ladders and access areas such as attics, roofs, and high shelving
  • Visual ability to assess cleanliness, maintenance issues, and inventory levels
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
