    Primary Purpose:

    Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in 4th grade science designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop critical thinking skills, scientific inquiry practices, and a deep understanding of science concepts aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
    • Valid Texas teaching certificate (Core Subjects EC�6 or 4�8 Science preferred)
    • Demonstrated knowledge of 4th grade Science TEKS

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:

    Instructional Strategies:

    • Develop and implement engaging, TEKS-aligned lesson plans that promote inquiry-based learning
    • Use a variety of instructional strategies, including hands-on experiments, STEM integration, and real-world problem solving
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including SPED, 504, GT, and ESL students
    • Utilize district-adopted curriculum resources with fidelity

    Classroom Management:

    • Establish and maintain a positive, structured classroom environment that promotes student engagement and safety
    • Implement effective classroom management strategies aligned with campus expectations
    • Monitor student behavior and apply appropriate interventions consistently

    Assessment & Data:

    • Assess student progress regularly using formative and summative assessments
    • Analyze data to drive instruction and participate in PLCs and MTSS processes
    • Maintain accurate and timely records of grades in accordance with district policy

    Collaboration:

    • Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to plan instruction and analyze student data
    • Collaborate with grade-level team members, instructional coaches, and interventionists
    • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration

    Compliance & Professional Responsibilities:

    • Follow all district, state, and federal policies (including IEP/504 accommodations and testing procedures)
    • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
    • Attend required trainings, staff meetings, and professional development
    • Support campus initiatives and participate in school events as needed

    Special Knowledge/Skills:

    • Strong understanding of elementary science content and scientific inquiry
    • Ability to integrate technology and hands-on learning experiences
    • Classroom management and organizational skills
    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
