Job Description

Position Summary:

The Accountant III is a senior financial professional and trusted steward of Heath Consultants’ financial integrity. In this role, you will lead complex general ledger operations, own the month-end and year-end close cycles, and deliver high-impact financial analyses that inform strategic decision-making. You’ll serve as a key liaison for internal and external audit engagements, champion internal control improvements, provide authoritative technical accounting guidance, and play an active mentorship role within the accounting team. This is a high-visibility position for a detail-driven professional who combines technical mastery with collaborative leadership.

Candidates MUST be local to the Houston, TX area( Near Hobby Airport) for the interview process and work environment. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries with full documentation
  • Manage audit requests; serve as primary liaison for external audit engagements
  • Perform advanced account reconciliations and resolve complex discrepancies
  • Lead intercompany and intracompany accounting processes end-to-end
  • Deliver advanced financial analysis, variance reporting, and actionable insights
  • Identify, design, and implement internal control and process improvements
  • Serve as ERP subject matter expert; support system enhancements and training
  • Mentor and develop Accountant I and II staff through coaching and guidance
  • Partner cross-functionally to provide technical accounting guidance organization-wide

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 5+ years progressive accounting experience
  • CPA a plus
  • ERP systems proficiency
  •  Audit and month‑end close expertise
  • BI or data visualization tools experience preferred

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
