Job Description

Position Summary

Delta Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our fast-paced Emergency Department team. This role provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in the emergency room setting and plays a critical role in triage, assessment, stabilization, and ongoing patient management.

The ideal candidate thrives in high-acuity environments, demonstrates strong clinical judgment, and excels in time management and patient flow coordination.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.

  • Triage patients and determine priority of care based on physical, psychological, and social needs.

  • Perform focused assessments of chief complaints in a timely manner according to established triage guidelines.

  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.

  • Collect blood samples and other specimens as needed.

  • Clean and dress wounds and assist with procedures.

  • Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately to changes.

  • Maintain and manage emergency room supplies and equipment.

  • Facilitate patient flow through the emergency care system.

  • Ensure care delivery aligns with the Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.

  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Colorado.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire.

  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification upon hire or within 1 year.

  • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 6 months of hire.

  • Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and time management skills.

Preferred:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of critical care nursing experience.

  • ENPC certification.

  • Specialty certification in emergency or critical care nursing (e.g., CEN, CCRN).
