Position Overview:
The CAD Drafter is a key role, responsible for creating accurate technical drawings, plans, and designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software or manual drafting techniques. The ideal candidate is a reliable, trustworthy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment where collaboration and autonomy are valued.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare project drawings for a variety of Geotechnical and Environmental projects, including, but not limited to, Geotechnical Explorations, Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, Soil and Groundwater Assessments, and Preliminary Contamination Assessments and/or Monitoring
- Manage prepared drawings for active projects, and filing of prepared drawings for issued projects
- Drafts designs utilizing computer-aided drafting systems to prepare drawings and designs.
- Converses with engineers and other subject matter experts to interpret design concepts, determine nature and type of required detailed working drawings, and coordinate work with others.
- Convert rough sketches and specifications into detailed drawings and plans
- Perform calculations, measurements, and estimations to support the drafting process
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations in the preparation of drawings
- Conduct quality checks on drawings to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and provide support during the construction phase.
Qualifications:
Travel Requirements:
● This position does not require regular travel as part of its primary responsibilities. However, occasional travel may be required, up to 10%, primarily for occasional off-site meetings, training sessions, or company events. Travel, when necessary, will be communicated in advance and aligned with business needs
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- This position primarily operates in a professional office environment, requiring the ability to work at a desk for extended periods while using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment.
- The position involves sitting for extended periods, performing data entry, and engaging in frequent communication via email, phone, and in-person interactions.
- The role involves regular communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders, both in person and through virtual platforms.
- The physical demands of the job may include occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting office materials up to 15 pounds
