Job Description

USD 320 Food Service is seeking individuals to work on a substitute basis during the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. 


 


Work times can vary between 6:30am-2:00pm, but will primarily be during lunch service (11:00am – 1:00pm).

FLSA Classification:  Non exempt


Reports to:                 Food Service Director and Kitchen Manager


 


Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent and ability to pass the sponsor’s math assessment

  • Maintain the confidentiality of student information

  • Ability to work on a part-time, substitute basis between the hours of 6:30a-2:00p.


 


Essential Functions:



  • Assist in food preparation.

  • React to change productively and complete tasks as assigned.

  • Appropriately operate all equipment as required.

  • Support the philosophy and mission of the school district.


 


Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:



  • Able to tolerate prolonged standing

  • Adequate physical strength to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials (lifting up to 50 pounds).

  • Capable of stooping, bending, climbing ladders and reaching.

  • Able to work effectively in a noisy and crowded environment.

  • Able to tolerate working in and around food service related fumes and odors.


 


Critical Skills:



  • Ability to maintain work attendance and come to work on time.

  • Ability to work constructively and cooperatively with others.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.

  • Must like children.


 


General Responsibilities:



  • Assist in a variety of tasks dependent upon need: food prep, meal service, cleaning.

  • Practice good personal hygiene and food safety.

  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director or Site Manager.
