Job Summary:
Provides prompt, courteous customer service at the Moapa Paiute Travel Plaza,
processing fuel and merchandise transactions, maintaining a clean and well-stocked sales floor, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for all guests and team members.
Duties:
- Greet every customer and deliver friendly, efficient service at all times.
- Operate POS register and fuel console; process cash, credit/debit, mobile payment, and fleet-card transactions accurately.
- Authorize, monitor, and troubleshoot fuel pump operations; assist customers with pump questions or equipment issues.
- Verify age for tobacco, alcohol sales in compliance with federal, state, and Tribal regulations.
- Balance cash drawer and complete shift-end reconciliation reports.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays; rotate product to ensure freshness and proper pricing.
- Maintain cleanliness of the sales floor, restrooms, fuel island, and parking areas; perform routine cleaning duties throughout each shift.
- Receive and verify vendor deliveries; report discrepancies to the Travel Center Manager.
- Monitor store security through visual awareness and proper cash-handling procedures; report suspicious activity immediately.
- Comply with all environmental and safety regulations related to fuel handling, spill response, and hazardous-materials signage.
- Answer the telephone professionally; address customer inquiries and complaints or escalate appropriately.
- Assist with inventory counts and merchandise ordering as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be able to work all shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Must be dependable and punctual.
- Must possess good math skills and manual dexterity.
- Must have experience or ability to learn electronic POS systems and fuel console operations.
- Must demonstrate a friendly, service-oriented, and responsible attitude.
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors.
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and the public.
- Must possess the physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 60 lbs., and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Food Handler’s Card within 30 days of hire (if applicable).
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
