ExemptJob Description:
This role develops, promotes, and conducts golf instructional programs and performs related duties at the municipal golf course to meet the demands and needs of customers. It is also responsible for supporting the daily management of the golf course.
Examples of Duties:
Schedules and teaches golf lessons. This is approximately 80% of this position.
Assists with promoting, organizing, scheduling, and conducting tournaments, matches, special events and daily course activities.
Helps to develop golf course programs, goals, training courses and long-range planning.
Assists with requisitions for golf course supplies as needed.
Performs duties related to the pro-shop and the golf operations as required.
Coordinate additional contracted instructor roles to fill voids as opportunities grow.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Associate degree or high school diploma plus some additional continuing education through certification program and 5+ years of experience or equivalent combo of education and experience level.
Thorough knowledge of golf course programs, procedures and rules.
Valid driver’s license.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel and Word or similar software.
Ability to earns Professional Golf Association (PGA) Level 1 Certification within one-year of employment. PGA of America Class A Membership (or equivalent) highly preferred or PGA Apprentice with ability to obtain Class A Membership within one-year of employment
Other Necessary Requirements:
May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City’s needs.
