Job Description

PULASKI COUNTY SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT


CERTIFIED ADMINISTRATIVE POSITION AVAILABLE





POSITION TITLE:  Secondary Assistant Principal


Candidates will be considered for Middle School or High School Placement 


 


Qualifications :



  • Valid Arkansas Secondary Principal Certificate or qualifications for the same 

  • Three years of teaching experience in secondary schools preferred


 


REPORTS TO:       Building Principal


 


JOB GOAL:          Assist the principal in planning, developing, and implementing the total program of the school and provide leadership in the ongoing Compensatory Instructional Program at the secondary level.





PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:



  1.  Assist in planning, developing and implementing the total curricular and extracurricular program of the school.

  2. Assist in planning and directing the inservice education of the staff.

  3. Visit classes frequently and serve as a resource person to provide individual help to teachers.

  4. Assist in selecting and assigning school personnel.

  5. Assist in the evaluation of assigned personnel.

  6. Help to establish and maintain good relationships between pupil-staff, school-community, school-central office and administration-staff.

  7. Assist with the coordinating of the total school program with programs of other schools.

  8. Help to maintain the policies, rules and regulations of the school.

  9. Assist in performing all duties as outlined by PCSSD school board policies and/or Federal and State  guidelines.

  10. Assist with attendance.

  11. Help to maintain pupil and staff personnel records.

  12. Help to maintain proper discipline and promote principles of good citizenship.

  13. Assist with student scheduling.

  14. Help to plan, monitor and supervise the maintenance and custodial services of the school.

  15. Account for funds, supplies and equipment as assigned by the principal.

  16. Assist in implementing the district's desegregation plan through monitoring to preclude discrimination based on race, gender, age or disability, and annually report the results of monitoring to the principal.

  17. Perform other duties assigned by the principal.





TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:


 


Salary Range: Teacher’s Salary Schedule X 1.27 Index 


Length of Contract:  207 contract days 


Eligible for Benefits: YES 





EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated according to provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
