Job Description
Hold responsibility as a technical "first responder", and builder of the seamless integration of industrial control systems and corporate IT infrastructure. This role requires a hands-on approach to maintaining mission-critical Cisco networks, SCADA environments, and VoIP systems, while actively developing custom applications and AI-driven tools to automate operationally driven systems.

Key Responsibilities

Comply with Reliability Standards and their associated requirements as approved by national and regional Reliability Organizations and governmental agencies.

Ensure that reliability standards strategy, policies, procedures, miscellaneous documentation, and associated evidence are aligned and consistent with OVEC-IKEC policy and strategy.

SCADA & Industrial Control Systems
Perform real-time administration and troubleshooting for SCADA HMI systems and grid control platforms.

Work hands-on with field personnel to integrate RTUs and PLCs, ensuring real-time data polling and operational visibility.

Ensure all assets meet NERC CIP or relevant energy sector cybersecurity and reliability standards.

Application Building & AI Automation
Design and deploy internal applications/scripts (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to automate manual data collection and operational reporting.

Use AI/ML models for predictive maintenance—foreseeing component failures or optimizing energy generation forecasts.

Build automated workflows to replace manual spreadsheet-based tasks, streamlining day-to-day energy scheduling and operations.

Cisco Networking & Cybersecurity
Hands-on configuration and maintenance of Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls across both office and remote site environments.

Implement "defense-in-depth" strategies, including network segmentation to protect critical SCADA assets from internet-based threats.

VoIP & Communication Systems
Administer and troubleshoot VoIP telephony, including softphones and desk phones for control room and field staff.

Maintain readiness for deployable communication systems and radio/fiber networks used for energy transmission.

Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior and support the Company's Corporate Compliance policy. Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Administer prescribed Company personnel policies and practices.

Carry out within the assigned area of responsibility the Company’s program of Equal Employment Opportunity including its Affirmative Action obligations.

Perform duties in accordance with all applicable federal and state safety laws and regulations, and all applicable company safety rules and operating procedures; when supervising others, assure that safe work practices are followed and conduct safety meetings; make suggestions for the improvement of the safety program and encourage others to do so.

Responsible for knowing and complying with the laws and Code of Business Conduct related to the performance of the aforementioned duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent field experience).

Hands-on experience in IT/OT environments, specifically within the energy or critical infrastructure sectors.  Proficiency in Cisco CLI, VLANs, and VPNs; experience with industrial protocols like Modbus TCP/IP, OPC UA, or DNP3. Scripting skills in Python for telemetry parsing and API-driven automation.
