Summary
Durand High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our coaching staff as a Varsity Assistant Football Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of football strategy, a commitment to developing student-athletes, and the ability to foster a positive and competitive team environment. This seasonal position requires effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to coaching.
Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and implementing effective practice sessions and game strategies.
- Provide instruction and support to student-athletes in skill development, technique, and game preparation.
- Help manage player development, including physical conditioning, mental preparation, and teamwork.
- Collaborate with coaching staff to evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Promote sportsmanship, discipline, and respect among team members.
- Assist in organizing team meetings, film sessions, and other team-related activities.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices and games.
- Support the recruitment and retention of student-athletes for the football program.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school administration regarding team matters.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and coaching clinics to enhance coaching skills.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience at the high school level or higher, preferably in football.
- Strong knowledge of football rules, strategies, and training techniques.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to reach their full potential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches, staff, and administration.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
- Availability for evening and weekend practices and games during the season.
