Job Description

TITLE: Housekeeper

REPORTS TO: Housekeeper

Non-Exempt

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The primary purpose of the position is to clean and maintain all areas of the facility in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing the facility and as may be directed by the Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor to assure that the facility is clean, safe, and sanitary.

ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Clean all support areas (offices, meeting spaces etc.)
  2. Pull trash from all trash cans daily, including the bathrooms.
  3. Dust and sanitize furniture and fixtures daily, high-dust walls weekly and remove any spots.
  4. Clean floors, vacuum carpet, dust mop and damp mop tile floors daily.
  5. Clean windows and glass daily.
  6. Clean and maintain all occupied resident rooms daily as assigned.
  7. Pull trash from the resident rooms, including the bathrooms.
  8. Clean resident room bathrooms (including sink, toilet, and shower.
  9. Clean resident beds from top to bottom.
  10. Clean and sanitize all resident room furniture.
  11. Check all supplies and re-stock as needed (paper towels, toilet paper, soap, hand soap, etc.).
  12. Clean and maintain all discharged resident rooms as assigned daily according to the guidelines.
  13. Report any maintenance problems or deficiencies to the Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Prior housekeeping or eviormental service expereince is preferred.
  2. If you have no experience, you must be willing to be trained in the cleaning procedures necessary to maintain the facility in a manner above and beyond a “standard” level of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety at all times.
