High School US History Teacher (2)
Murdock High School (Grades 9-12)
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Instruct students in U.S. History using HQIM in a high school setting.
- Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities.
- Create a positive educational climate for students.
- Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
- Modify Tier I instructional material accordingly throughout the year
- Maintain electronic grade books.
- Utilize various curriculum resources.
- Integrate curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of students
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Observe and evaluate student’s performance
- Manage student behaviour in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures
- Participate in department common planning time
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree, Masters Preferred
- Possess a MA teaching license, including SEI endorsement
- Knowledge of current teaching methods; educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles
- Ability to think critically, problem-solve, backwards plan, analyze; use data and prioritize the needs of the student
- Teaching experience with a proven track record of producing dramatic achievement gains is ideal
- Unwavering belief that all students can achieve at high levels and strong commitment to
do whatever it takes for all our students to be college-ready
Salary Range: $55,730 - $100, 313
