Basic Job Functions:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

 

The Environmental Coordinator will be responsible for interacting with the Nucor Team to assist with growth and improvement of the Vulcraft Texas Environmental Program. This person will ensure compliance with air, water, waste licenses, rules, permits, regulations and environmental programs. Additional duties include taking a lead role in plant-wide environmental project management, training, audits, and community outreach.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering field, Industrial Hygiene related discipline, or equivalent experience in manufacturing or construction environment.
  • At least two years of experience in an environmental role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with environmental program development and compliance
  • Water Treatment License
  • Previous experience with CEMS, Water Systems, or Waste Management
  • Experience in ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
  • Four-year degree in Engineering or Environmental Science
