ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Facilitates didactic lectures, workshops, educational resident groups, and resident community meetings.
  • Recognizes, prevents, and responds to situations in which a resident may be a danger to self or others, behaves in an aggressive or destructive manner, may be experiencing a crisis or may be experiencing a medical emergency.
  • Reads, interprets, and implements client’s treatment plan.
  • Coordinates recreational and social activities for residents within the milieu.
  • Provides support and encouragement to residents, demonstrating warmth, empathy, and genuineness.
  • Conducts luggage searches and room searches as necessary for safety.
  • Attends and participates in treatment team meetings and MDS as requested.
  • Maintains accurate and timely charting in the EMR system.
  • Assists with any resident assignments as directed.

JOB SKILLS AND ABILITY

  • Knowledge of resident rights and provision of treatment that promotes resident dignity, independence, individuality, strengths, privacy, and choice.
  • Able to meet the unique needs of our resident population, taking into consideration diagnosis and trauma informed care.
  • Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with residents.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, using non-judgmental words and behaviors, using person-centered language, and engages in active and reflective listening.
  • Recognizes, respects, and adapts to diversity, differences, and cultural traditions of residents.
  • Knowledge and application of confidentiality requirements and HIPAA.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
    Experience in behavioral health preferred.


LICENSING/CERTIFICATION:

  • Current Fingerprint Clearance
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification
  • Clear TB screening
  • Valid Driver’s License
