The Role: What You’ll Do
As a Visual and Performing Arts Teacher at Veritas Preparatory Charter School, you will have the unique opportunity to engage high school students in both visual and performing arts. Your role will involve creating a curriculum that inspires creativity, critical thinking, and an appreciation for the arts. You will plan and deliver high-quality instruction while collaborating with a dedicated team of educators to enrich students' learning experiences and prepare them for further education and life beyond high school.
You’ll also:
- Teach different electives, covering disciplines such as theater, music, dance, and visual arts
- Design and implement an engaging arts curriculum that uses various visual and performing art techniques.
- Organize school-wide student performances and displays of student work to build community across students, staff, and families.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives that promote student engagement and success
- Serve as an advisor for one crew and facilitate daily crew blocks.
- Utilize your expertise in the arts to deliver effective lessons that meet diverse learning needs
- Incorporate elements of college and career readiness into the art curriculum, fostering skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving
- Communicate proactively with students and families to build and maintain strong relationships
- Maintain an inclusive environment that respects and promotes diversity in the arts
- Engage in continuous professional development and collaboration with fellow educators
- Assess student performance regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their growth
- Encourage collaboration and promote teamwork in group projects and performances
