Job Description

Load, transport and deliver materials to and from destinations on and off the Boston University campus. Drive and operate heavy equipment. General moving duties within buildings including machinery and equipment to support maintenance and construction activity. Assist in emergency response by pumping out flooded basements and parking lots and providing logistic support.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have and maintain valid CDL drivers license and medical certificate with 3-5 years of commercial or industrial experience.
  • Must have and maintain valid Hoisting Engineer license (2a and 1c). 
  • 3-5 years of snowplowing experience in either commercial or industrial setting.
  • Must be able to lift heavy furniture, equipment, etc. up to 50lbs individually, safely team lift larger loads, climb stairs, access vehicles and facilities.
  • Operate heavy equipment and maintenance equipment. 
  • Ability to work outdoors continuously.
  • Ability to speak, read, understand and write fluently in the English language.
  • Required to drive throughout the University and through surrounding communities in a safe manner utilizing a variety of University vehicles.
  • Knowledge of basic safety procedures. 

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • CDL License Class B.
  • 5-7 years experience with snow removal.
  • 5-7 years commercial or industrial transport experience.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency.
