JOB OVERVIEW

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you’ll serve as a key member of the plant leadership team, driving technical excellence, capital execution, and long-term asset performance across the Memphis facility. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on operational impact, overseeing engineering and asset care to ensure reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement. You’ll lead a team, influence plant strategy, and play a critical role in delivering safe, high-performing operations.

HERE’S WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Lead and direct engineering and asset care strategies to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
  • Drive continuous technical improvement across facilities, equipment, utilities, wastewater systems, and production control systems.
  • Oversee capital and construction projects from planning through execution, ensuring alignment to scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Partner with Corporate Engineering, Operations, Quality, and external service providers to deliver project and operational success.
  • Deploy and align global engineering strategies with plant performance goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish, track, and drive performance against key engineering and reliability KPIs.
  • Manage and develop a team of direct reports, providing coaching, direction, and performance leadership.
  • Lead asset care and reliability programs to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and extend asset life.
  • Own and manage departmental budgets, including capital planning, expense forecasting, and financial justification of projects.
  • Support and drive Kellogg Integrated Work Systems (KIWS) initiatives to strengthen operational performance and culture.


QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Technical, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
  • Comprehensive managerial and technical experience in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Proven experience leading capital projects, including planning, execution, and budget management.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
  • Experience with project management, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Knowledge of utilities operations, facility systems, and maintenance practices.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in a union environment.


Preferred:

  • Experience within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Experience leading asset care and reliability excellence programs.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement frameworks such as KIWS or similar systems.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Combination of office and manufacturing plant floor environment.
  • Regular interaction with production equipment, engineering systems, and cross-functional teams.
  • Exposure to plant conditions including noise, temperature variations, and required PPE while on the floor.
  • Fast-paced environment requiring strong decision-making, prioritization, and leadership.


WORK SCHEDULE

  • Monday through Friday, with flexibility to support operational needs, including occasional work outside of traditional hours.
  • Travel up to 10%


Salary Range: $146,560 – 183,200
