VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL COACH

Quincy Community Schools is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to serve as the Varsity Basketball Head Coach. 
The successful candidate will provide leadership for the entire basketball program while fostering a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and student-athlete development.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and lead all aspects of the varsity basketball program
• Develop and implement practice plans, game strategies, and offseason programming
• Oversee and support sub-varsity coaches to ensure program alignment and development
• Promote academic success, leadership, and positive character among student-athletes
• Manage team communication with players, parents, staff, and administration
• Coordinate scheduling, transportation, equipment, and program needs
• Ensure compliance with all district, conference, and state athletic association rules
• Supervise athletes at all practices, games, and team events

Qualifications:

• Previous basketball coaching experience required (head coaching experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategy, and player development
• Demonstrated leadership and program-building skills
• Ability to effectively mentor and motivate high school student-athletes
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Must meet all district and state requirements for coaching positions

• Build and maintain a competitive and respected basketball program
• Support multi-sport participation and collaborate with other programs
• Maintain professionalism and appropriate conduct at all times
