JOB SUMMARY
The Personal Care Nursing Supervisor assists the Director of Patient Services/Regional Administrator by directly supervising the private duty/personal care department in the Virginia. Works closely as a preceptor with each employee in the department to maintain current and accurate compliance according to policies, procedures and state regulations. ** Candidate must hold a current RN license from the state of Virgini**
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITES
- Oversees general orientation for all nursing assistants/companions as needed.
- Conducts supervisory visits as needed to ensure compliance.
- Arranges in-services for aide/companion staff based on current needs.
- Directs/supervises Medicaid personal care program for branch.
- Supervises Medicaid personal care program in accordance with state/federal and ACHC requirements.
- Supervises the delivery of all non-skilled nursing services as needed and in accordance with state/federal requirements.
- Attends community resource meetings as appropriate.
- Conducts monthly QI audits on patient charts to ensure compliance with documentation in all branches (at least a 10% sample).
- Conducts quarterly staff meetings to review any issues/educational needs/training/compliance.
- Ensures timely admission of all private/personal care patients within P&P of 48 hours of receiving all required documentation needed.
- Assist with recruitment as needed to ensure patient coverage.
- Conducts timely employee evaluations and skills competencies as needed to ensure compliance with State/Federal and ACHC laws/regulations.
- Conducts PCA classes quarterly as needed for staffing.
- Completes required audits/documentation as needed for surveys/compliance.
- Supervises scheduler and ensures compliance with visit frequency for aides/companions and Nursing visits.
- Responds to patient and family complaints timely with resolution and follow-up.
- Fills in and covers for scheduler when he/she is off. Performs scheduling and payroll if she/he is out.
- Any duties as assigned by the Director of Operations/Regional Administrator.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Registered Nurse with current licensure to practice professional nursing in State or a Bachelor’s degree in HealthCare preferred (unless required by law) from an accredited program.
- Two (2) years of experience in a home health, hospice or related health care organization.
- Ability to market and deal tactfully with customers and the community.
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or Organization requirements and is in good working order.
- Has excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of business management, governmental regulations and CHAP standards
Part-Time schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am to 12 - 12:30 pm.
