    Job Title:  Student Information System (SIS) Clerk
    Reports To:  Director of Accountability
    Receives Guidance From:  Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Director of Accountability

    Position Summary:

    The Student Information System (SIS) Clerk assists with maintaining the integrity, security, and reporting of all student data within the district's SIS. This role focuses on providing professional customer service, maintaining strict confidentiality, and fostering collaboration among district and school staff. Additionally, the clerk supports accurate and timely state and federal reporting through MSIS by assisting with data system needs and verification processes.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
    • Preferred experience includes three or more years in a K-12 setting performing student data tasks directly relevant to this position.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of the functionality within all SIS/MSIS modules and reports to serve as a reliable resource for school and district data compliance and reporting.
    • Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of the district's SIS to ensure the accuracy of student data, including enrollment, scheduling, grades, and attendance.
    • Update of SIS/MSIS user accounts and permissions as directed, verifying appropriate access levels and conducting periodic audits.
    • Provide professional and timely technical assistance and instructional support to district and school personnel, to maintain data coherence and align with reporting schedules.
    • Assist in the complete and accurate transmission of data from the SIS to MSIS, in compliance with state standards.
    • Perform routine data reviews to identify errors or inconsistencies and work cooperatively with school staff for timely resolution.
    • Collaborate on the design and oversight of support tools, such as data reports and verification dashboards, to provide schools with the necessary resources for accurate student information management.
    • Assist in the execution of MSIS reporting cycles within required state deadlines.
    • Contribute to the development of training materials and provide ongoing instructional guidance through scheduled professional development and one-on-one sessions to ensure school-based staff remain compliant with SIS and MSIS procedures.
    • Stay current with Mississippi Department of Education policies, MSIS guidance, and relevant SIS modules.
    • Adhere strictly to security protocols and district policies (including FERPA) to safeguard student data privacy.
    • Participate in required training sessions, webinars, and conferences related to the SIS and MSIS reporting. Share critical updates as directed with appropriate district and school staff and suggest necessary procedure adjustments.
    • Maintain and accept responsibility for any district owned fixed asset item assigned to employee and ensure appropriate use by following district policies for acceptable use
    • Undergo periodic evaluations according to state and board policy procedures
    • Maintain confidentiality
    • Regular, dependable, in-person, and punctual attendance is an essential function of this position
