Security Guard – Residential & Commercial Properties

Position Overview

We are seeking reliable and professional Security Guards to provide safety and security services at residential communities and commercial properties. The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a secure environment by patrolling premises, monitoring access, and responding to incidents with professionalism and sound judgment.

Key Responsibilities

Access Control & Monitoring

  • Control entry and exit of residents, visitors, vendors, and employees
  • Verify identification and maintain visitor logs
  • Monitor CCTV systems and alarm panels

Patrol & Site Presence

  • Conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas
  • Inspect doors, gates, locks, and access points
  • Identify and report safety hazards or suspicious activity

Incident Response

  • Respond to emergencies including medical, fire alarms, disturbances, and security breaches
  • De-escalate conflicts using professional communication
  • Notify supervisors and emergency services when required

Reporting & Documentation

  • Complete daily activity reports (DARs), incident reports, and logbook entries
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all activities

Customer Service

  • Provide a visible, approachable presence for residents, tenants, and guests
  • Assist with directions, inquiries, and general support
  • Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor at all time

Appearance & Grooming Standards

  • Maintain a clean, pressed, and complete uniform at all times
  • Adhere to company dress code, including proper footwear and issued equipment
  • Maintain good personal hygiene and grooming standards
  • Hair must be neat and professional; facial hair (if permitted) must be well-groomed
  • No excessive jewelry; appearance must remain professional and not distracting
  • Tattoos must be covered if required by site or client standards
  • Maintain a professional posture and command presence at all times

Work Environments

  • Residential buildings (apartments, condos, gated communities)
  • Commercial properties (offices, retail centers, corporate facilities)
  • Indoor and outdoor posts, including lobby desks and patrol routes

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid state security guard license (as applicable)
  • Strong communication and observational skills
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods

Preferred

  • Prior Security experience
  • Certifications such as CPR/AED, First Aid, Fire Guard (e.g., F-01, F-02, F-03, F-04, S-95 where applicable)
  • Experience with CCTV and access control systems

  • Conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques
  • Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism
  • Report writing and documentation accuracy
