Senior Accounting Manager



HKG Duty Free - Miami, Florida.



Job Summary



The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely month-end close, and compliance with applicable accounting standards. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical accounting knowledge, proven experience supervising accounting staff, and mandatory experience within Duty Free retail operations. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting business decision-making.



 





Responsibilities



· Supervise, mentor, and manage accounting staff, ensuring workload alignment, accuracy, and professional development



· Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, and cash management



· Lead and own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements



· Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and management reports



· Perform and review complex balance sheet and account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies



· Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory requirements applicable to Duty Free retail operations



· Manage accounting processes specific to Duty Free stores, including inventory accounting, customs-related reporting, and cross-border transactions



· Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies; prepare audit schedules and documentation



· Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in collaboration with leadership



· Review, enhance, and document accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls



· Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions and ensure timely issue resolution



· Partner with cross-functional teams (operations, procurement, store management) to support financial accuracy and reporting



· Ensure accurate fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and capitalization policies
