CAD Specialist
Summary
The CAD Specialist is responsible for creating, revising, and maintaining accurate technical drawings and schematics in support
of Life Safety and fire protection projects. This role works closely with engineers, project managers, and internal teams to
ensure drawings meet project specifications, industry standards, and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, collaborative, and experienced in CAD drafting within Life Safety or related construction environments.

What You’ll Do
• Produce accurate technical drawings and plans using AutoCAD
• Create, revise, and maintain Life Safety CAD files, schematics, and as-built drawings
• Interpret and update blueprints, construction documents, and design layouts
• Support project teams with drafting throughout the project lifecycle
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and internal stakeholders to ensure design accuracy and consistency
• Maintain organized and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, calculations, and system specifications
• Apply industry standards and best practices in CAD drafting
• Follow applicable Life Safety, fire protection, and compliance guidelines (including NFPA where applicable)
• Assist with special projects and ongoing drafting initiatives as needed

What We’re Looking For
• 3+ years of hands-on proficiency using AutoCAD
• Direct experience with CAD/drafting for Life Safety
• Background in construction, engineering, fire protection,
or related technical industries
• Strong ability to interpret and work from blueprints,
construction documents, and technical drawings
• Certified Life Safety Specialist (preferred, not required)
• Working knowledge of NFPA codes and Life Safety
compliance standards (preferred)
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross functional project teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn
company-specific software tools
Physical Requirements
• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach,
climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
occasionally
• May require extended work hours, including evenings
and weekends
Additional Requirements
• Must be 21 years of age
• Valid driver’s license
• Must pass drug screen, background check, and driver’s
license check
• Ability to travel up to 50%, as needed
